Water Polo South Australia (WPSA) is responsible for the control of the Sport in South Australia. Its role is to encourage, develop and promote  players (junior, senior and elite) and other members including coaches, referees, officials, supporters and volunteers. WPSA is controls, conducts and administers state competitions and supports the development of water polo within the school structure.

Water Polo Australia is responsible for the control of the Sport within Australia. It is bound and is responsible for the control of the Sport and enforcement of the FINA Statues and Regulations within Australia. It fosters, controls, conducts and administers national, interstate and other championships, tournaments, competitions and matches.
